How Does a Newborn Exam Work?

When you arrive at our Chandler, AZ office for a newborn exam, we will ask you about your family health history and go over any concerns you may have about your baby. Then, we will check the infant's vital signs, record their weight, and assess their entire body for any abnormalities or symptoms of disease or illness. A physical exam of a newborn typically involves listening to the sounds of the heart and lungs and looking at the color of the skin, the shape of the head, the inside of the mouth, and all of the facial and body areas.
